William Cooper

• 1861      born   in Joti-jota tribal territory

• 1884      married  

• 1884     settled at Maloga

• 1920     was made a spokesman by the Union

• 1933     became eligible for an age pension

• 1935    led the first Aboriginal deputation to a Commonwealth Minister

• 1940      retired in Barmah

• 1941      died  at Mooroopna, Victoria
